On any given morning at Harvest Ridge, you'll see the sights and hear the sounds of children laughing, learning and playing. The Corntacular Adventure is offering educational field trips to pre-school and elementary age students in our Classroom in the Corn. We believe it is important that the heritage and dynamics of agriculture is something that all children have the chance to be exposed to and we're able to help accomplish that goal in a fun and unique way. We invite you to bring your students to come get lost in our classroom in the corn.
Classroom in the Corn
Hands-on learning experiences are always best when students have been prepared for what they are about to encounter and are able to then discuss what they learned afterwards. We are pleased to offer our Classroom in the Corn learning series to make your field trip more exciting and memorable ... as well as a better learning experience. These Teacher Resource Guides are broken into separate grade ranges and each include: activity goals, National Curriculum Standards, preparation required, materials needed, worksheets, and step-by-step instructions.
To schedule a visit, please submit our reservation request form online and include the name of your school, pre-school, or daycare in the Group Name Field or call our office at 336-344-2323. NOTE: Upon scheduling your field trip, you will receive a password allowing you to download the links below. A sample has been provided for you to as well. If you need access to teacher materials before booking, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for password.
When are field trips?
Field trips are available for elementary and pre-school groups Monday through Friday mornings from September 30th through November 4th. It is important that you schedule your field trip in advance to lock in your group rate and let us know how many children will be in your group.
What is included on our field trips?
Each field trip includes:
- Online curriculum materials for you to share with your
students either before or after a visit to our farm.
- A "Crazy About Corn" educational curriculum package
(while supplies last)
- A trip through the corn maze
- A hayride around the farm and visit to our Petting Zoo
- A turn on the Jumping Pillow for each student
- A voucher for a free return visit to Harvest Ridge for each
student that attends
How much does it cost?
Regular Group Price - $8.00 per child
(25 student minimum & free small pumpkin for each child while supplies last)
*Teachers & Aids get in free (maximum 2 per 10 kids)
**Field trip rate available to public, private, home schools and pre-schools.
*Groups are encouraged to pay in advance (check or credit card) to speed up processing time when you arrive. Entire group must be paid for in one transaction. Checks should be made out to "Harvest Ridge Farms".
